Well, two of my faves, anyway. Flowers and shoes.
I actually had a request from the boss to SEE my red 5 inch heels I wore to the Red Ball, so I put them on the kitchen floor (sans me) and took this pic. Pretty, huh. But ya just can’t stand for too long…

Nice to see someone from Hollywood get really serious about pet adoption. Cheers for Hillary Swank! Extra kudos since she’s even rescued two parrots! Read more:
NEW YORK — Snug
gled between her two adopted dogs, Hilary Swank has always been an animal lover. With Rumi drifting off into a happy doze and Karoo, looking up at the two-time Academy Award winning actress with eyes filled with thanks, Swank knows first-hand the special bond between homeless animal and human.
“I am a really big advocate for speaking up for animals that need to be adopted, and when you think about the statistics, to me, there is no other option but to adopt,” Swank said of the estimated six million homeless dogs and eight million homeless cats, according to the Humane Society of the United States.
Cheryl Lynn is 53 today. Did you know that she was discovered on he Gong Show? Yup. One of the very few to use that wacky show as a ladder to success. Here’s her only really big hit:
In 1971 creator and host Don Cornelius began the longest running television show in history, Soul Train. The first episode featured Jerry Butler, The Chi-Lites and The Emotions. The show used various theme songs, one of them a home grown product from the great Gamble & Huff. TSOP “The Sound of Philidelphia.” In later years re-mixed versions of the song was used.
Soul Train ended in 2006, but can still be seen in re-runs. Artists that performed include, Average White Band, James Brown, Chic, The Commodores, Elton John, Four Tops, Hall & Oates, The Jackson 5, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Frankie Valli, the list is enormous. This and many others can be heard on “I Love the 70’s Sunday.”
