Paul Simon Coming To The Borgata With Brand New Album

So Beautiful or So What is Paul Simon’s 10th studio album as a solo musician, and his first since 2006.  Simon said about the record it reminds him of his 1972 solo debut Paul Simon.  New single The Afterlife echoes the beautiful world-music of Paul Simon at his best with African guitar accompaniment.  This Spring, Simon will be at The Borgata on his 17-date tour of small venues playing tunes from the new record as well as lost gems from Simon and Garfunkel.

[photogallerylink id=35247 align=left]Like his solo debut, So Beautiful or So What is sparsely produced and intentionally simple.  ”I didn’t want to build the record too much,” he explains.  ”Once I put two or three guitars on, that was all.”  It does however feature Paul Simon dabbling for the first time in sampling, using Sonny Terry blues-harp in Love Is Eternal Sacred Light. “That opened up a whole new world.  I like things that sound old and new at the same time,” he says.  He also uses a bluegrass vocal group on the track Dazzling Blue.
