New Beatles Concert Film Needs Fan Footage

Beatles fans from around the world have a chance to relive Beatlemania all over again in a new Apple Corps-approved project to collect rare media directly from those who experienced it firsthand. The best fan submissions will be included in a new feature-length concert film on The Beatles.

The Beatles Live! Project is global effort launched by OVOW Productions, per Apple’s authorization, to collect never-before-seen amateur footage, photographs, interviews and other media chronicling The Beatles’ 250 concerts held between 1963 until the group’s final concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966.

According to a press release, organizers have gathered an international team of “archivists, collectors, information specialists, artists, social media strategists, amateur media groups, Beatles fan clubs, writers, academics, and film restoration experts” to aid in the research.

OVOW, which is an acronym for “Our Voice Our World” in reference to The Beatles final live performance in the “Our World” satellite broadcast on June 25, 1967, launched the campaign Thursday (November 15) asking for fans to share stories and original footage from their concert experiences.

Footage for consideration in the film can be submitted here.
