It’s been 14 years since we got a new album from Fleetwood Mac, but they’re gearing up to bring us a new album this year.
Speaking in a Rolling Stone interview last year, Christine McVie confirmed, “We cut seven songs in the studio already for the start of a brand-new studio album. Which we did probably nearer two years ago. We shelved that temporarily and then went on the road and did the tour. And now, actually, I think we’re going back in in October to try to finish it off. Stevie hasn’t participated yet, but hope springs eternal. She’s going on a solo tour at the moment. But Lindsey and I, we have plenty of songs. There are tons more in the bag that we have yet to record. And they’re fantastic. So we’re going to carry on and try to finish the record.”
While McVie didn’t appear on the group’s 2003 project Say You Will, she last made her appearance on their 1995 effort Time. Stevie Nicks did appear on that LP. The last album by the band to feature the original lineup of Lindsay Buckingham, Nicks, McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood was 1987’s Tango In The Night.
Hopefully, the album materializes soon and we can look forward to another amazing tour announcement for 2017!
