What better way to honor the memory of the amazing late icon David Bowie than with a 90-foot-tall lightning bolt statue?
Superfans of the star would like to have a sculpture of the bolt from the cover of Aladdin Sane erected in the singer’s hometown of Brixton, London. Bowie’s official website fully endorses the idea, and is appealing for crowdfunding to get the monument built. Yesterday, Bowie’s official Twitter account posted a photo of what the statue might look like.
As it stands, the cost to commission the piece is approximately $1.2 million. So far, the project has raised about $40,000.
