Next month at the Tribeca Film Festival, an epic reunion is set to happen. Some of the industry’s most popular actors will come together for a screening of a film franchise that gave rise to many of their careers, The Godfather. The first two films in the trilogy will be screened at the festival, marking the 45th anniversary of the franchise. Stars of the films including Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will be in attendance, as well as director Francis Ford Coppola.
The Godfather, released in 1972, saw Marlon Brando play the family patriarch Vito Corleone alongside Pacino as his son Michael. The sequel followed in 1974 with De Niro joining the cast.
The back-to-back screenings will take place on April 29th at Radio City Music Hall. In addition to showing the films, the event will include a panel discussion with Coppola, Pacino, De Niro, plus James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire.
The Tribeca Film festival, which runs from April 19th through April 30th this year, was co-founded by Pacino 16 years ago.
