In Philly, we’ve known that Bon Jovi has a big heart for a long time. The band and its frontman have been doing great work in our community and we are always grateful for the love. Now, they turn those efforts to help a former member of their team.

Drum tech Joe Dorosz suffered a stroke following spinal fusion surgery, and the band has announced that they will match every donation that is given to Joe through a GoFundMe page. The money will help Joe and his family during his recovery at his home in Phoenix.

Besides Bon Jovi, Dorosz has also worked with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Prince, the Dixie Chicks and many others.

In addition, the band is also taking part in a partnership with the Phoenix Suns and eBay for Charity. Two pairs of season game tickets are being auctioned off, and the band is donating signed tour programs, bandannas, hats, and shirts. The proceeds will benefit the Phoenix Suns Charities and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. The mayor of Phoenix has even declared March 4th Bon Jovi Day.

Jon Bon Jovi will also be making a stop at the TODAY show this Sunday, March 14th, discussing the band’s wildly successful This House Is Not For Sale album and current tour. He’ll also discuss the band’s former guitarist and founding member Richie Sambora, and the circumstances surrounding his leaving the group.
