Peeps Transformed Into Sculptures Of Belle, Mr. Potato Head & More

By: Greg Sacidor

Every Easter season, Peeps hit their peak of popularity as they pop up in stores and baskets alike. But now, the traditional holiday treat is being used for something else – sculpture building.

This week, a “PEEPshow” was held in Maryland, where contestants entered their best piece of Peeps art. Many of the show’s contestants went the sculpture route and turned these marshmallow treats into some incredible looking sculptures. Among the entries were sculptures of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Mr. Potato Head, Prince’s symbol, along with many more.

Peeps have lost a bit of steam when in comes to popularity in 2017. Usually one of the top Easter candy choices, Peeps ranked as only the fifth most popular candy in 2017. It finished behind Hershey’s Eggs, jelly beans, chocolate bunnies and the most popular choice Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs.

If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Easter with the family, and the kids always want candy, come out and join WOGL at the Fresh Grocer of Monument Road at 4160 Monument Road in Philadelphia, PA for an awesome Easter Egg Hunt from 11AM to 1PM. There will be FREE treats for the kids, and then they get to go on a cool hunt through the store. We can’t wait to see you there!
