Meat Loaf is not happy with Sony and he wants us all to know it.

The rocker took to his Facebook page to blast the record label for not paying him or Jim Steinman royalties for decades on his hit record Bat Out Of Hell. Sony says they’veĀ sold 44 million copies of the record, but he says he’s earned just “pennies” from the company.

In the midst of the company planning to reissue the album, Meat Loaf’s statement reveals that he gets “no royalties from Bat and never have.”

“They have screwed me and Jim since 1981,” Meat Loaf says. “It took us almost 13 years just to get statements. So I am asking all of you to not buy this record, to boycott this release completely.”

Sony plans to release a 40th-anniversary edition of the album on June 9th with three bonus tracks, including an 11-minute version of the title song and a duet between Meat Loaf and Cher titled Dead Ringer For Love. The album is estimated to be the fourth biggest selling album of all time.
