Grease star Olivia Newton-John is battling serious pains and it has caused her to have to postpone several concerts due to a “bad issue with her sciatica.”

The condition causes sharp pains to run from the sciatic nerve in the lower back down one or both legs of the sufferer. At 68, Newton-John has been battling the issue for quite a while.

“We are so sorry to announce that the Olivia concerts scheduled for May will be postponed due to a bad issue with Olivia’s sciatica,” Newton-John’s management team announced via her Facebook page on Tuesday, May 9th. “Once the dates are rescheduled we will post the new dates ASAP. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

Newton-John has dates scheduled in June and for August according to her Facebook page, but there is no word on if she’ll be well enough to perform on those dates.

Olivia has also battled illness in the past when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. Thankfully, the star has been in remission for the past twenty years.

Earlier this year in an interview with Britain’s Radio Times, she revealed how the loss of her sister lead to her new album titled Liv On, released last fall. The music was written to help her grieve, and in sharing the music with family and friends, Olivia realized that the songs that center around the themes of illness and death may help others who were mourning the loss of their loved ones. “It was something I was going to send to family and friends,” she explains, “but after we finished we were discussing that there isn’t much music specifically made for people going through loss and grief. It was then I had the light-bulb moment – maybe there is a need for this music.”

Hopefully, Newton-John will be feeling better soon and sharing her music with those who need to hear its powerful message.
