As we at 98.1 WOGL gear up for our 30th Anniversary show this July with Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper, it’s great to see one of our amazing headlining acts being honored in such an inspiring way.
Later this month, LOGO will be awarding Lauper at their Trailblazer Honors for her work with the LGBT community. LOGO will hold the ceremony in New York on June 22nd, airing an hour-long special on their network the following day.
Lauper, 63, founded her True Colors Fund in 2008 to help end homelessness among LGBT youth. She has been a longtime advocate on behalf of the LGBT community. She was the first female Tony Award winner for Best Original Score for the musical Kinky Boots in 2013.
