A new musical based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants is headed to Broadway this fall. Previews of the show will begin on November 6th at the Palace Theatre, with the official opening night set for December 4th.

The musical originally premiered in Chicago in the spring of 2016 to rave reviews.

An impressive roster of songwriters feature in the production, with each song curated for specific scenes in the story which sees the residents of Bikini Bottom fighting to save their beloved undersea community. The list includes Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, The Flaming Lips, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, and many more.

A cast album, recorded last summer, will be available soon.

Tickets to the show go on sale June 26th via Ticketmaster. For more information, visit the SpongeBob musical’s website.
