The Boss on Broadway? It’s happening!

For the first time, Bruce Springsteen will hit Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre for an eight-week run this fall, the NY Post reports. Dates have yet to be finalized, but November could be the beginning of an amazing run for the rocker.

The show will feature Springsteen doing a more intimate set of his usually huge arena shows.

“He wants to play a smaller house,” a theater source reveals. “He wants to try something more intimate, and he likes the idea of being on Broadway.”

Springsteen will perform five times a week and reportedly won’t have to pay rent during the full run of shows. The Kerr seats 975 people and has been empty since the closing of the musical Amélie in May.

Rumors are swirling that this Broadway performance puts Springsteen in the position to turn his best-selling memoir, Born to Run, into a Broadway musical, which would no doubt be a hot ticket.

Who’s ready for Broadway Bruce? He made the announcement official on his Twitter page this morning (August 9th).

Tickets to the show go on sale August 30th at 10AM ET.
