Halle Berry‘s fan forum, Hallewood, is being and relaunched as a lifestyle site.

Berry first launched the site in 2000 as a way to “connect one-on-one” with her fans but shut the site down in 2004 when it became too much for the star to manage.

On Tuesday (June 20), Berry announced she would be joining forces with media management company The Braintrust to rebrand it as a lifestyle site, which will feature fashion, beauty, home, parenting advice, and discussion groups.

“In the year 2000, I had the idea of creating a fan website,” Berry says. “I knew back then, almost 18 years ago, that the future for artists like myself was to find ways we could connect one-on-one with our fans. To have a real conversation for them to get to know me in a different way than the media was presenting me.”

Halle says the site will be “very cinematic,” who admits she’s “obsessed” with virtual reality. Berry plans to feature videos on the site that will allow fans a glimpse of her personal life, as well as self-directed short films about issues important to the star.

“What makes America great is that we have the right to have an opinion, we have the right to agree to disagree, but I think we do need a place today for people to come together and have real conversation,” said Berry. “Based on where we are now with this great divide in our country, and it’s my obligation as an artist, to start providing that forum for people to talk things out and bring us a little bit closer.”
