Remember that campy, awesome film Tremors from 1990 starring the one and only Kevin Bacon? It’s coming back… as a TV show!

Rolling Stone reports that Syfy has picked up a new series pilot based on the horror-comedy. Bacon will reprise his role as Valentine McKee, the hero of the original film who fought giant, subterranean worms called “Graboids.”

“This is the only character I’ve played that I’ve ever thought about revisiting. I just got to thinking, where would this guy end up after 25 years?” Bacon said in a statement.

The series picks up 25 years after the creatures invaded the fictional town of Perfection, Nevada. McKee, Bacon’s character, will once again have to fight off the monsters while “battling age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.”

This will be the second time Syfy has tried to revive the series, with 2003’s Tremors: The Series canceled after just one season. Let’s hope Bacon’s return will give the show some staying power.

Other cast members have yet to be confirmed.
