Over a year after the release of David Bowie‘s Blackstar album, and his subsequent passing two days later, the LP is still receiving much acclaim.

The LP was recently given honors for the Pop Music Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards on Sunday (July 9th).

Iggy Pop, Bowie’s longtime friend, accepted the award on his behalf, praising Bowie for changing “the game in rock and roll and in popular music,” via video message.

Iggy also shared fond memories of his late friend, from sharing an old Victorian house together to how producer Tony Visconti would bring around a bunch of TV shows for them to watch to “interrupt the hilarity of the Monty Python stuff.”

The ceremony will be broadcast via Sky Arts channel in the U.K. on Saturday, July 15th.
