If you were born before 1980, it may be time for you to spend your Friday nights watching Netflix rather than in the club, at least according to a new study.
The study, conducted by Currys PC World, finds that if you’re 37 it is now officially “tragic” for you to hit the club dance floors.
The study also states that 31 is is the age where we start wanting to stay in instead of partying the night away.
About half of those who were a part of the survey said they prefer to stay in and watch TV, regardless of the weather. Another reason many said they stay home is the price of a fun night out.
Interestingly, around fourteen percent of respondents said they spend their time scrolling through Facebook, and another 37% said they just enjoy socializing on social media in general.
The research also showed that some of the reasons folks over 37 choose to stay in are that they don’t want to get dressed up (22%),”arrange babysitters” (12%), and “book a taxi” (21%).
Matt Walburn of Currys says, “The Great Indoors study recognizes the fact that there comes a time when we appreciate our home comforts more than a hectic social life and it can often be a drag to play the social butterfly at parties and nights out.
“It’s now almost impossible to get bored at home, with endless box sets and the latest technology, such as 4K TV, enhancing the in-house experience, so much, that it often surpasses its ‘outdoor’ equivalent.”
Well, what do you think? We just celebrated our thirtieth birthday, so it seems we’ve got about 7 years left… do you still like to party at clubs?
