In 2016, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd made a triumphant return to an ancient amphitheater in Pompeii to perform two sold out shows. The venue was also the site of Pink Floyd’s iconic 1972 concert film. Gilmour’s shows are now being released as a concert film titled Live at Pompeii, and in CD, LP and digital formats on September 29th.

A clip from the new concert film has surfaced, featuring clips of Gilmour singing some of his solo hits, as well as Pink Floyd tunes like The Great Gig in the Sky, Run Like Hell, and Wish You Were Here.

Pink Floyd’s original concert in the Pompeii amphitheater was the first there since gladiator times, as the venue was destroyed by an eruption of the Vesuvius volcano in 79 AD.

The new film will screen in 2,000 movie theaters around the world on September 13th.

Gilmour’s accompanying concert album will be available as a 2-CD set with each disc running for 74 minutes. The 4-LP version will also be available. The CD version will also be available as a box-set with a Blu-ray featuring footage from other Gilmour shows in South America and Poland in 2015 and 2016, tour documentaries, a feature-length BBC documentary, a photo booklet, Pompeii guide, postcards and a poster.
