A massive new Isaac Hayes box set spanning his recordings from 1962 to 1976 has been announced. The collection, titled The Spirit of Memphis (1962-1976) features four discs and covers a wide range of Hayes’ career from his years at Stax Records as an in-house songwriter and producer through his later more classic LPs.

The set also includes a 7″ vinyl single of Hayes’ first commercially-available recordings, a 60-page hardcover book of photos and interviews with Hayes, and more.

The set is due out on September 22nd via Concord/Rhino.
