On September 8th, Sting and composer J. Ralph will be honored by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

The museum will receive donations from the duo for their contributions to American music, including their song The Empty Chair, featured in the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story. The song was Oscar-nominated.

For the ceremony, Dan Rather will conduct a discussion with Sting and Ralph, followed by performances from the pair.

The event is open to the public, and tickets benefit the Smithsonian’s culture and arts programs.
