Fans of a certain 1980’s franchise will be happy to know it could make a comeback in the near future.

Director James Cameron tells Entertainment Weekly that the series that began with The Terminator in 1984 and spawned four sequels is being primed for a reboot.

“I would say, at this point, it’s looking very likely,” he says. “We’re starting to get the pieces pulled together, and we’ll probably have something to say on that fairly soon.”

Rumors say that Cameron could be planning a trilogy of the films, but he neither confirms nor denies that in the interview, stating,  “I like trilogies, but I’m not going to comment on that right now. It all depends on whether the first one makes money.”

The interview comes ahead of Terminator 2: Judgement Day returning to theaters in a new 3D version of the popular film.
