As we wait patiently for the reboot of American Idol, one of the series new judges has reportedly filed paperwork to trademark a catchphrase he plans to use on the show, much like Randy Jackson’s now infamous, “yo, dawg,” exclamation during his judging role.

The Blast reports that Lionel Richie is moving to own the slogan, “Here Comes Da Judge,” which he plans to use on a variety of merchandise including T-shirts, belt buckles, shot glasses, underwear, wine goblets, tote bags, and even scented candles.

Richie currently has his own line of home goods, so we can assume that some of the items may make it to his Lionel Richie Home Collection.

There’s no word on if the other two confirmed judges, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, will have their own catchphrases for the show. Would you buy Lionel’s new merch? Let us know in the comments!
