On this week’s show, Marilyn speaks to Patricia Evans, Director of Communications for Longwood Gardens, followed by Madeline Bell, President and CEO of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Ms. Evans sits down to speak with Marilyn Russell about A Longwood Christmas, which has been in place since it became a DuPont family tradition in 1921. Longwood’s Christmas spectacular is a true feast for the senses, featuring indoor and outdoor displays, countless decorated trees of varying heights, colors, and lights, children’s trees, a Topiary Garden, the Holiday Garden Runway, an Italian water garden…the list literally goes on and on of all the intricate details upon which Longwood prides itself. Longwood Gardens is the Presenting Sponsor of WOGL’s 3rd Annual Season’s Readings program. The initiative collects new books to brighten the holiday season for the kids at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. You can go to wogl.com/book for all of the details.
Of course, as you’re hopefully aware, the 98.1 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon is Thursday and Friday, December 7th and 8th. It is a cause dear to our heart, and as such, Marilyn Russel has spoken to many Remarkable Women at CHOP over the past few weeks. In culmination, she sits with Maeline Bell, President and CEO of CHOP. Madeline began as a Pediatric Nurse, believe it or not, and patient care remains one of her passions and the foundation of her leadership at the renowned hospital and research center. She holds a bachelor of science in Nursing and an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters from Villanova University, as well as a master of science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. She also authors the blog Heels of Success, offering guidance to ambitious women on how to elevate themselves in the workplace, balance the demands of work and family, and pursue their ideal careers.
Make sure you tune in to the #WOGLradiothon Thursday and Friday, December 7th and 8th, for stories from special CHOP patients, celebrity appearances, local sports teams, activities, and a plethora of good feelings!
