On this week’s show, Marilyn speaks to Dena Blizzard, Comedian, Carrie Nork Minelli, Director of Advertising and Public Relations, and Lauren Raja, small business founder.
Dena Blizzard is a Comedian and off-Broadway performer, and a New Jersey resident. She is also creator of the “Chardonnay Go ” board game, a classic-style game that nonetheless involves a search for the perfect glass of wine and some dirty charades to boot. The mother-of-three did not come to comedy until age 30, but has made a name for herself as “One Funny Mother” in the years since.
Carrie Nork Minelli is Director of Advertising and Public Relations at Parx Casino. Originally a dancer and entertainer, she entered Public Relations at the turn of the millenium and hasn’t looked back since. Carrie directs and manages all media relations initiatives for the casino as well as its corporate entity. In 2012, she added Director of Advertising to her Public Relations role. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at Temple in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Lauren Raja shares a story of loss, grief, and hope, describing the tragic loss of her husband in Europe. She was inspired in his memory to create Justin Jean Pajamas, which has the mission of catalyzing others to live lives of authenticity, integrity, and passion. She says, “Our pajamas will provide comfort when you need it most, reinstate the innocence we so easily lose in adulthood, and provide you the confidence to live the happiest, most fulfilling life imaginable.”
