We, friends, were very lucky today.
The band Chicago is playing the inaugural show at the Parx Casino Xcite Center, and founding member Lee Loughnane gave Marilyn Russell a call to talk about the gig.
The Xcite Center is a brand-new venue at Parx Casino, a state-of-the-art live entertainment and performance stage. It’s 30,000 square feet large and features over 1,500 seats, state-of-the-art sound and technology, 26 automated crystal chandeliers, gold fabric on the walls, three 16 ft x 9 ft IMAG giant video screens, and a 65-foot-wide and 30-foot-deep stage. The sound and technology are such that the venue will be hosting America’s biggest names in music and comedy, according to CEO Tony Ricci.
They are certainly off to a good start, with Chicago set to take the stage on Saturday, January 13 for a SOLD-OUT show at 8:00. Beforehand, they will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 which is FREE to the public! Chicago, of course, is one of the top-selling groups of all time, a 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades.
