Marilyn’s guests this week are Anne Shenberger, Executive Director of CASA Youth Advocates, and Buffy Harakidas, Director of Marketing at Metrospect Events, and the individual who orchestrates the wildly popular Hair O’ The Dog event.
Ms. Shenberger has been the Executive Director of CASA Youth advocates since 2009, overseeing the extension of its services to Chester County and the additional Educational Decision Maker service. CASA Youth Advocates is a non-profit based in Media that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to act as Court Appointment Special Advocates on behalf of abused and neglected children in Delaware County and Chester County child welfare systems. Volunteers are then able to review and monitor the cases of youths experiencing abuse or neglect. Anne previously served as the regional director of Pennsylvania’s Office of Children, Youth and Families.
Ms. Harakidas is Director of Marketing at Metrospect Events, and the mastermind behind Hair O’ The Dog, a hugely popular Philadelphia event. Hair O’ The Dog generates income for local nonprofits through fundraising, while attracting thousands of attendees to the longest-running black-tie affair in the country. Ms. Harakidas has a great deal of experience in marketing, advertising, social media, public relations, and event management in the telecommunications, entertainment, and hospitality industries. As a mother of three, she balances her time between raising her family and designing campaigns, events, and experiences that continue to cultivate sales. The next Hair O’ The Dog event is Saturday, January 20th!
