Dylan's Story

November 26, 2018

Dylan’s family came to the Philadelphia area from Germany in 2016 for temporary residency with Dylan’s father's job.  Then six year old Dylan was diagnosed with leukemia this year. Now mom says that they were meant to be here, near Children’s Hospital. She adds that the energy at CHOP is so good that they stay positive even knowing the treatment regimen will be three years. The family is staying for Dylan’s treatment.

Mom learned from Child Life Specialists how to be honest and prepare Dylan for what’s ahead even when it’s unpleasant. His prognosis is good and Dylan is doing well.

Dylan loves to go to CHOP and sees it as a place of full of friendly faces, not a scary experience.
