Rip Torn, Actor Known for "The Larry Sanders Show" and "Dodgeball" Dies at 88

Emmy-award winning actor Rip Torn died Tuesday, July 9th at home surrounded by his family at 88 years old. The actor is best known for his role of Artie the producer on "The Larry Sanders Show". He received six Emmy nominations, winning once in 1996, and over the show’s run was also nominated for two American Comedy awards (winning one), an American Television Award, and four Cable Ace awards (winning one), among many other accolades.

Other notable roles include Agent Zed in "Men In Black" and the hilarious Patches O'Houlihan in the 2004 movie "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story". 

Rip Torn's career spanned seven decades with over 80 films, 10 Broadway plays and dozens of TV shows.
