Marilyn Russell's Remarkable Women: Miriam Francis Language Arts teacher at Franklin Middle School, Actress Rachel Dratch, and actor, director & professor at Temple University Amina Robinson

First on the show, we celebrate a remarkable teacher! Miriam Francis is a winner of the NJEA Leading Ladies contest. She is a Language Arts teacher at Franklin Middle School. The person who nominated her said, “When I think of Miriam Francis I think of the saying ‘You did not wake up today to be mediocre.’ Mrs. Francis not only lives her life this way but she requires that her students live their life this way each and every day--whether they are in or out of her classroom. Congratulations to Miriam on this recognition of her positive influence in her students’ lives.

Next we celebrate a remarkable woman on the screen – performer Rachel Dratch! Yes, “Debbie Downer” herself!!! Rachel rose to fame as a cast member on Saturday Night Live.  She has made numerous  appearances on  30 RockInside Amy SchumerUgly BettyThe Middle, Rachel Dratch's Late Night Snack and more.

We wrap up the show with a local actor, director and professor at Temple University – Amina Robinson. She has performed on Broadway (Gospell, Mamma Mia!) Broadway National Tours (Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia!) She also appeared in the movie Precious. Amina just came off directing THE COLOR PURPLE at Theatre Horizon in Norristown which runs through December 23.
