Strike out heart disease with the American Heart Association and the Philadelphia Phillies!

Home runs for heart!

As you may know, heart disease is the number one killer of Philadelphians.  The American Heart Association's Healthy for Good movement is designed to get Philadelphians moving and reduce the risk of heart attack by creating a culture of physical activity.  And the 21st Annual Home Runs for Heart is a family-friendly, full-day-of-fun, charity-benefitting way to move more and protect your heart!

Home Runs for Heart is a home-run derby style event which allows participants to take 20 swings at home plate.  After batting, participants can take a turn at fielding and pose for a souvenir photo. The team, individual man and individual woman with the most home runs and the most points (based on distance) will receive some great prizes!

Home Runs for Heart not only supports the Healthy for Good campaign, but funds groundbreaking research at local hospitals and universitites throughout the city, as well as creating life-saving educational programming.

So, if you're looking for a great spring activity that promises a fun day for the whole family, check out the event page at www.heart.org/homeruns!
