Amazing Lunar Eclipse Due to Take Place January 20th

It will be a...ready for it?...Super Wolf Blood Moon!

January 15, 2019

A full moon is always exciting.  A Supermoon is even more exciting.  And a Blood moon?  We can barely comprehend how awesome that is.  And when they all happen AT THE SAME TIME?  Well, consider our minds blown.

That is exactly what is happening this Sunday night.  Let's go over the terminology:

Supermoon:  A full moon wherein the moon is at its closest point to the Earth during its orbit.

Wolf Moon:  The term for January's full moon.

Blood Moon:  That is the reddish tint seen to the moon during a lunar eclipse, which has to do with light refraction.

Put them all together, and you have a Super Wolf Blood Moon, which, I think we can all agree, is pretty much the coolest-sounding thing ever.

The total lunar eclipse will be visible in many places around the globe, but will be best seen in North and South America.  Here is a website that will tell you the timing of the eclipse based on your city.

It's going to be a beautiful sight, mainly falling between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., with the total eclipse happening between 11:45 and 12:45.  Here's wishing you a great night of viewing and a happy Super Wolf Blood Moon!
