Philly Fan Friday: Carson Wentz's Progress and the Phillies Come Home

Philly Fan Friday is for all the fans, and we're here to keep you up-to-date!

June 8, 2018

So, there's a lot of Philly sports news...we've got some great teams, and they're always up to something or other.  But we're going to focus on the things that excite us, the things that matter, the things we think you want to know about.

And does anything fit that bill more than one Mr. Carson Wentz???

Here he is, five months after surgery.  Only five months.  And yet, he seems to be moving relatively well for this time in his recovery.  Philadelphia Inquirer writer Zach Berman took to Twitter with a video of an Eagles team workout where Carson can clearly be seen, looking every bit the star quarterback who is on his way to health.  Check it out below!

This is good news, fans.  While no one can predict when he'll be back to full fighting strength, Carson is obviously making progress, staying in shape, and remaining committed to the team.  And so all we can do is send him good vibes, and continue to support the Birds, because the season is not far off!

Switching focuses, it's also worth mentioning that the Phillies are coming home after a 10-game streak out in the big world left them with a 3-7 record.  They're returning to Citizens Bank Park tonight, but not to take it easy...no, they have some serious match-ups in their future, starting today, and really need to pull out the fancy tricks.  And pull them out they can, now that they are back in the comfort and familiarity of home, where they have the best at-home record in the league.

We'll see them face the Brewers tonight at 7, and we don't know about you, but we have a good feeling about this.  This team is strong, and they absolutely have the ability to pull this off.  Plus, tonight is Phillies Retro Night at Citizens Bank Park, as the series this weekend against the Brews marks the 25th anniversary of the 1993 National League Champion Phillies.   Music and PhanaVision features will be tailored to the '90s throughout the weekend, and it promises to be a great #FlashbackFriday for some loyal fans!

Check out some images from the Phillies' recent games below!

Tough road trip, but if you can’t smile at this pic of a beaming @odubel_herrera playing ⚽️, we can’t help you.
