We're helping kids like Ivan through the 2019 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon at CHOP

Ivan is a 14-year-old fighting leukemia. His mom noticed a bump on Ivan's neck and told his dad to take Ivan to the hospital. Ivan was also displaying symptoms of exhaustion. Ivan was scared because he knew the word cancer meant the risk of death. He prayed for the best and told God that he is grateful for all of the things he has in his life.

Now he is on maintenance care for his cancer, and has one year left of treatment.  Ivan says that losing his hair twice was hard.

This experience has showed him how much people care about him and the kind nurses at CHOP helped bring him hope. With English not being Ivan’s mom’s first language, CHOP’s language services helped provide free translation services during his appointments and treatment which helped mom understand his care.
