We're helping kids like Lucas through the 2019 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon at CHOP.

Betsy knew that her baby boy Lucas was going to have some challenges when he was born and diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, chylothorax, kidney reflux and lymphatic tissue problem. However, his home hospital could only offer “supportive care”. Betsy went on the hunt and found CHOP. What was a rare procedure for her home hospital turned out to be a very common one for CHOP.

She wanted that experience to be behind Lucas. Although his prognosis wasn't good, Betsy knew CHOP was Lucas' best chance. She remembers the day that CHOP’s transport team walked through the door to pick up her son, she immediately felt hope. Lucas is making great strides at CHOP.

Betsy loves the team and the NICU staff who always make her feel like a part of the medical team.
