First on the program is Kelly Harris, CEO of the Cancer Support Community of Greater Philadelphia. Kelly was on Remarkable Women earlier this year and we invited her back because we just love what she is doing for our  community! Kelly talks to Marilyn about the upcoming Paws 4 Life Dog Walk on Saturday, September 29th at Warminster Community Park. Enjoy unique entertainment, demonstration rings, delicious bites to eat, silly games, and fun dog contests with celebrity judges including Bucks County Courier Times News Director, Christina Kristofic,  Miss Pennsylvania Outstanding Teen, Alysa Bainbridge AAAAND our very own, Marilyn Russell! Tickets are $25 per leash so only $25 for an entire family to join in the fun! Funds raised from the Dog Walk support the more than 150 free monthly programs for local men, women and children living with cancer.

 

Marilyn is then joined by Beth Devine, Executive Director of Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative. Beth talks to Marilyn about Game On Philly! -- a new 5-year initiative that aims to give every child in this city access to the life-changing benefits of sports. Beth has an extensive background in sports-based youth programming, most recently having founded Philly Girls in Motion, an organization that delivers physical activity and sports programs for girls in schools and communities throughout Philadelphia. Beth started the organization with the help of then Councilman, now Mayor Jim Kenney, who asked her to build a basketball program in South Philadelphia in partnership with the six Division I women’s basketball programs located in Philadelphia.
